Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data IQCognify collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your information under laws such as the GDPR and CCPA.

Overview

IQCognify ("we", "us") operates the website at https://iqcognify.com. We respect your privacy and collect only what we need to run a free IQ test and keep the service secure and improving. This policy describes our practices and your choices.

Your test result is saved in your browser so you can see it immediately, and a copy is stored on our servers so that certificates can be verified. That stored copy is not linked to an account and contains no name or email address. You do not need an account to take the test or to see your result.

Information we collect

Test responses and results

When you take the test we process your answers and timing to compute your score, percentile, and classification. The result is saved in your browser so you can see it straight away, and a copy is stored on our servers so that certificates can be verified and results can be checked later.

That server-side copy holds the answers you gave, how long each one took, your computed score and cognitive breakdown, and a note of which question set and scoring version produced it. It does not hold your name, your email address or your IP address, and it is not linked to a named account. Where we do use your IP address, and why, is described under Technical and security data below.

Technical and security data

Like most websites, our servers and our hosting provider record standard request information, including your IP address, so the service can be kept running and secure. We also use your IP address briefly, in memory, to limit how often the free analysis, the assistant and certificate issuing can be requested from one place. That is used to prevent abuse and is not stored alongside your result.

Account information (optional)

If you choose to create an account, we collect the details needed to maintain it, such as your email address and authentication data. You can use the free test without an account.

Analytics and usage data

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used and to improve it. These tools may collect information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring site, and interactions. Microsoft Clarity may capture aggregated interaction data such as clicks and scrolling to produce heatmaps and session insights.

We use cookies and local storage for essential functionality and for analytics. See our Cookie Policy for the details and your controls.

How we use your information

  • To administer the test and compute and display your results.
  • To analyse response timing and answer patterns for scoring and to detect cheating or non-good-faith attempts, protecting the integrity of results. Timing is measured server-side; see our Methodology page for details.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website and detect misuse or fraud.
  • To understand aggregate usage through analytics.
  • To respond to your inquiries and requests.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Our legal bases for processing (where the GDPR applies) include your consent (for example, for non-essential analytics cookies) and our legitimate interests in running and improving a secure service.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:

  • Analytics providers (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) for usage measurement.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that run our servers.
  • Authorities or parties where disclosure is required by law or to protect rights and safety.

These providers may process data outside your country. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK (GDPR) or in California (CCPA/CPRA), these protections apply to you.

  • Access and deletion: request a copy of your data or its deletion by emailing iqcognify@gmail.com.
  • Finding your stored result: because it carries no name or email address, we can only locate it if you can point us to it — send us the verification link or the certificate ID from a certificate you were issued.
  • Local results: results also live in your browser, and you can clear those at any time via your browser's site-data controls.
  • Analytics opt-out: you can decline non-essential cookies and use browser controls or available opt-out tools.
  • Do Not Sell/Share: we do not sell personal information; California residents retain their CCPA rights regardless.

When we delete a stored result we erase the result itself and clear the score and date from any certificate issued from it, so its verification page stops showing them and says the certificate has been withdrawn instead. We keep only the certificate's random reference number and the fact that it was withdrawn — that identifies nobody, and without it an already-shared certificate link would keep displaying the score we had just erased.

Two things deletion cannot reach, so it is worth being plain about them. A certificate file or link you have already saved or sent to someone contains the score itself, and we cannot remove a copy we do not hold. The same applies to a result you shared using a share link (an address beginning /r/): those links carry the result inside them, are not connected to our stored copy, and continue to work after deletion. If you no longer want a share link to work, stop sharing that link.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described here. Results saved in your browser remain on your device until you clear them.

Results stored on our servers are deleted automatically 90 days after the test was taken. The exception is a result you have been issued a certificate from: we keep that one for as long as the certificate exists, because a certificate has to stay verifiable. Nothing else extends the 90 days.

When you finish the test your browser also holds a short-lived token that carries your result. It is what lets the written analysis, the assistant and the certificate work without an account, and it stops working 24 hours after the test. Deleting your stored result does not reach a copy already on your own device or one you have shared with someone else.

Account records are retained for as long as your account is active and as required for legal and support purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

Children's privacy

IQCognify is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. To back this up in the product itself, the test asks for a self-reported age before it begins: anyone who indicates they are under 13 is not shown the assessment and is instead pointed to guidance for parents. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact iqcognify@gmail.com and we will delete it.

Changes and contact
